I was determined to create a platform for a nurse to partner with families to serve as a care coordinator, a guide to navigate through the whole system so older adults could live and thrive, not merely survive.
…reaching out and collaborating with AARP on this initiative is helpful because you can’t be the experts at everything, and it allows a collaboration and a resource to make sure our city is designed for anybody who wants to live here.
No one anticipates becoming a family caregiver. It takes so much to coordinate what someone needs.

The whole goal is making sure that folks who have this disease don’t get isolated, Ross said. The idea of the Memory Café is a safe place…. This is where you come and have a couple of hours to be you. We all understand dementia so you don’t have to do anything.
With Jean’s [KayBee.Us Founder] involvement, our communities are literally improving before our eyes. I don’t take her role in that for granted for one second.
